CLASS DESCRIPTION

This professional learning series is designed for literacy leaders, instructional coaches, and administrators seeking to integrate the domains of FOUNDATIONS (phonics) and TEXTS (reading and writing) standards. Participants will explore evidence-based best practices to support teachers in implementing high-quality literacy instruction, fostering a culture of reading, and driving student achievement.

 

This class includes how to streamline initiatives, coaching and supporting educators in delivering explicit, systematic literacy instruction; Integrating diverse texts across disciplines to enhance content knowledge, engagement, and critical thinking; Developing strategies for scaffolding complex texts and fostering academic language development; Implementing best practices for differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including struggling readers and English language learners (ELLs); Using data-driven decision-making to assess student progress, inform instruction, and drive literacy interventions and; Leading school-wide literacy initiatives to create a sustainable culture of reading and learning.
