Class Description
The new K-2 Georgia Standards Texts Domain emphasizes purposeful student engagement with texts to support learning and growth. This hands-on professional learning session will focus on the Big Idea: Techniques, where students learn to identify and use narrative, expository, opinion, and poetic techniques as they interpret and create texts. Together, we will explore practical ways to select high-quality, developmentally appropriate texts and apply effective instructional techniques that bring literacy to life in K-2 classrooms. Participants will leave with ready-to-use tools, resources, and fresh ideas to boost student engagement and achievement—while building confidence in delivering rich, standards-aligned literacy experiences.
